e 1997\, long before the Web 2.0 tr
 end toward co-creation\, Kohei Nish
iyama has been running an innovati
 ve online product development comm
unity. The system\, used by the des
 ign-centric Japanese retailer MUJI
and soon to be rolled out globall
y by LEGO\, has manufacturers worki
ng with consumers to design produc
ts - from inception to manufacturi
ng. Started off as an ideal to mak
 e “people’s wishes come true”
\, cuusoo.com is now synonymous wit
 h crowdsourcing. Mr. Nishiyama wil
l be sharing with us how massive o
 nline collaboration can create sop
 今的cuusoo.com已成了「群眾
 \nDouglas Young\nDouglas Young launc
hed the Hong Kong-based homeware a
nd accessories company Goods of De
sire (GOD) in 1996 with a mission
to bring better homegrown design i
 nto people’s lives. G.O.D.\, the
acronym which sounds like “to li
 ve better” in Cantonese\, started
out by capturing Hong Kong’s ic
ons and turning them into art form
s and retail objects to be appreci
ated as affordable art. Mr. Young’
s designs are inspired by Hong Kon
 g’s unique cultural identity\, th
ey’re often iconic but with a tw
ist\, so people of Hong Kong can im
 mediately identify with them\, whil
e putting a smile on their faces.
Mr. Young has the foresight to beg
in collecting items of cultural si
gnificance more than 20 years ago\,
  their G.O.D. Street Culture Museu
m is now a database for current an
d future designers to draw inspira
tions on. When Mr. Young learned o
f this meaningful event\, he gracio
usly accepted the invite and lend
us a venue to make this happen.\n\n楊
